Our patented Forward Flex Control (FFC) is a revolutionary system designed to make Red Paddle Co’s 12'6" and 14'0" Elites the stiffest inflatables on the market, ensuring a competitive edge. FFC works by preventing the nose of our iSUP raceboards from flexing, making the whole front half of the paddleboard virtually rigid.
When paired with our RSS battens on 20psi+ inflated boards, the results are seriously impressive. Reducing flex enhances power delivery and glide per stroke, boosting overall performance, efficiency and speed – most obvious during sprinting and other high-power phases or in choppier conditions, when Elites feel more like hardboards than iSUPs.
The FFC system consists of a two-part carbon rod that’s inserted into mounting points on the nose after fully inflating the board. The rod locks into an EVA deck-base in the standing area and is put under load with a tension lever. This stabilises the board’s front section, practically eliminating nose flex.
