Great straight line board
Bought this board to compliment my Red 9'6" Compact. Wanted a straight line cruiser that can eat up the miles in a more efficient manner (on mainly rivers) and it doesn't disappoint. It goes in a straight line which is what I wanted. Noticeable glide. The build quality of the whole package is really high: The pump is improved on the earlier model and the bag is very practical. Only cons I noticed was comparing it with my compact 9'6" is I preferred the offset centre handle on the compact. New board is heavier and its not as easy to carry with handle in the centre. Little bit more strain on my carrying arm. Anything over a 150 m walk I would suggest inflating it where you will be launching from. Use the practical backpack options instead! I am yet to go out in perfect conditions with new board as It has been quite windy. Re that I do think the Compact is a lot better in windy, rougher conditions. It turns quicker and the wind doesn't quite catch the nose so I will be using that when the conditions are less than ideal however the 12'6 is a great speed board and I and really looking forward to taking it out in optimum conditions. Its also very buoyant and when sitting down and resting on it the deck seems to be drier (maybe due to thickness) I think the two boards do compliment each other really well and you are well covered for whatever your needs are. Overall I think I will be very happy with my latest Red paddle Board. Well worth the investment. Needless to say the…
